In February and March 2026, Polish research teams from the University of Silesia in Katowice and the University of Szczecin carried out a research visit to Pwani University in Kilifi, Kenya.

As part of this secondment, the researchers worked on the translation and cultural adaptation of research instruments, jointly organized workshops on participatory research and research methods involving children, and took part in a team‑building meeting. They also developed a schedule of visits to schools in several regions of Kenya and coordinated school meetings addressing the topic “How to Stay Safe in the Digital World: Think Twice Before Posting.”

During the stay in Kenya, the project participants conducted part of the research in schools well known to them from previous visits, including institutions in Kibarani, Shanzu, and a Maasai village in Voi. In addition, they established cooperation with a new institution – Kalela Junior Secondary School in Voi, which has over 1200 students. The researchers also visited a family participating in the research, whose members have lived for many years in a mud hut typical of this region of Kenya.
