Members of the University of Szczecin team involved in the GUARDIAN project participated in the XV Scientific and Educational Conference “Zielonogórskie Dni Pedagogiki Mediów im. Profesora Marka Furmanka”, which took place on 24 April 2026.

During the conference, the team presented research reflections and findings related to key areas of the GUARDIAN project, including media education, children’s digital safety, sharenting, and the protection of children’s image and privacy in digital environments.

The presentations were delivered by prof. US dr hab. Elżbieta Perzycka-Borowska, who presented a paper entitled “Grandparenting as a Form of Children’s Media Visibility in Digital Culture”; dr Anita Karyń, who gave a presentation entitled “Sharenting in the Era of Artificial Intelligence — Consequences of the Child’s Digital Footprint”; and PhD students Aneta Witosz and Oliwia Bator, who presented the paper “Media Education of Children and Young People in the Context of Sharenting, Digital Inequalities and the Development of Artificial Intelligence. A Study of School Practices in Kenya”.

Participation in the conference provided an important opportunity to present the ongoing work of the University of Szczecin team within the GUARDIAN project and to engage in academic discussion on the challenges of contemporary digital childhood. The event also enabled the team to share perspectives developed within the project, particularly those concerning the role of schools, families and educational institutions in supporting children’s safe and conscious participation in digital culture.

We would like to thank the Organizers for the opportunity to participate in the conference, as well as all Speakers and Participants for their inspiring presentations and valuable discussion.
